Overview
Why is Westminster moving from Workplace to Circle?
We are moving platforms to Circle because our current community platform, Workplace, is going away. We have set out to create a new community platform that will not only replace Workplace, but also enhance your learning experience even more!
When will I gain access to Circle?
We will be launching the new platform June 2, 2025!
Will l I lose access to Workplace? If so, when?
Workplace will turn to “read only” on August 31, 2025. We will have fully moved to our new platform by then! Students will lose all access to Workplace after May 31, 2026.
There is information in the article above on how to download data. Another option is to screenshot the posts and information you would like to keep!
What will happen to my old posts and saved items from Workplace?
If you do not take any of the steps above, your Workplace content be gone with the platform after May 31, 2026.

What kinds of spaces are there? How do I find them?
We have loads of spaces! There will be different spaces for different types of posts, whether they are academic, community centered, or anything in between. You will also have specific spaces for each of your classes each term! Read the pinned post under each space to learn more about it.
You will find all of the spaces available to you through the search option. Communities you are a part of will be located on the left side bar.
How do I tag someone in a post or a comment?
It's easy! Type "@" before their name and they should appear in a drop down menu. Just select the person you wish to tag and their name will show up in bold and the color red when successfully tagged!
How do I create a Group Chat?
Click on your direct messages icon at the top right of the screen (bottom right on mobile). When creating a new message, add the names of all of the people you want to include! It should automatically create a group chat.
How do I create a space?
In some collections of spaces (called ‘space groups’) it is possible to create your own space. Specifically, we have created ‘Student Groups’ for just this kind of thing, since it is important that WTS’s Circle community is authentically shaped by our own learners, student leaders, and faculty. For instance, you might have an idea to host a group around a specific region, extra-curricular book club or special interest.
That said, overcrowded space groups can be overwhelming. To prevent clutter as our community expands, maximize spaces for meaningful interaction, and to ensure new spaces thrive, we ask that all ideas be submitted for review by our Student Success team for approval. Once approved, you’ll take a very brief course to learn more about how to host spaces in our community, and then you’ll be given moderator privileges to create your very own space, which you are free to promote to others in the community.
Should I create a "space" for my small group or should we use the group chat function?
Small groups should communicate via threads in direct messages. These can be re-named and pinned to make them easily findable.
How to I attach a hyperlink (clickable link)?
Thankfully, our new app automatically recognizes when a link has been posted and hyperlinks it for you! If you are having issues with this function and it is not recognizing your link, type a / or click the "open slash commands menu." From there, you can click "Embed" and paste your link!
The Slash Commands Menu has so many helpful options to personalize and enhance your posts - check it out!
How do I reduce the notifications?
This is a great feature of our new platform. Easily toggle from mobile or your browser what kind of notifications you want.
You can adjust all of your notification settings by clicking on your profile > notifications!
