MAC and MATS Course Registration Policy
Registration
Registration for online courses occurs during a 1-week period before the term begins. Learn How to: register for courses by following the instructions here. Course registration is finalized on the last day of that week and you will be invoiced for tuition shortly after registering for your intended course(s).
Add/Drop Period
During each term, you will have the opportunity to register for your courses during a week long open registration time period. During that week, you can add and drop courses as you prefer. Once closed, you will not have the ability to make changes to your enrollment.
Credit Hour Assignment
Online courses are 10 weeks in duration and include an exam period. The amount of total required hours of student work per credit for online courses is equivalent to residential courses.

Matriculation
Matriculation into a program occurs on the first day of classes of your initial term. Matriculation connects you to an academic year and a particular set of degree requirements. If a new student drops all registered courses before the Add/Drop period deadline of the initial term, that student will be considered as not yet matriculated. Students can defer once for up to one year after the original intended matriculation date.
Auditing
Online courses are not available for audit. Online students are unable to audit residential courses without paying the appropriate auditing fee.
Independent Study
Independent Study courses are not offered to students in online programs or to Visiting Students.
