Withdraw from a Course
To drop a course during the add/drop period simply delete it from your course list in Populi. There are no penalties for dropping a course within the add/drop period (see the academic calendar for dates), and any payments made will be refunded to your account.
If you are receiving financial aid, you must notify the financial aid office of your course change prior to dropping, as dropping and/or adding courses might affect your financial aid eligibility.
To withdraw a course after the add/drop period email Student Success at support@wts.edu.
Implications for withdrawal after the add/drop period
Please choose from the following options to view the relevant policy.
Residential Programs | Online MDiv & MAR | Online MAC & MATS
All Residential Programs, Online MDiv, Online MAR
You will be assigned a ‘W’ ("withdrawn" from course) grade for the course on your transcript. The course grade will not impact your GPA.
Be sure to review the course withdraw deadlines and tuition refund schedules for important policies regarding your dropped courses. Course withdrawal after the deadline will be assigned a grade of "F".
Online MAC, Online MATS
Students can withdraw from a course they have already begun but are not able to complete. If you are seeking to withdraw from a course, please email support@online.wts.edu to discuss the withdrawal process.
The effective date for withdrawing from a course is the date on which approval is granted from Student Success. If you withdraw from a course before the Saturday of the fourth week of the term, you will receive a "W" grade on your transcript. If withdrawing after the completion of the fourth week of the term, you will receive an "F" grade for the course, which is a failing grade.
Withdrawing from any course that has begun while not enrolled in any other courses signals to Student Success that you wish to take a term away from your studies. As a result, you will be registered for no courses for that term and this will count toward your two-term away per academic year limit.
Note that withdrawing from courses does impact your ability to receive a refund for the course and may impact your overall financial aid package. Please contact support@online.wts.edu with questions.
