Update Regarding Free Microsoft 365 Student Licensing
Microsoft has changed their educational licensing options and the A1 Plus license will no longer be offered starting January 2025. What that means to you is that free use of the Office 365 desktop applications is no longer included in the free license available to you with your student email. You can still use the web-only Office apps using your Westminster student email for free, but it's important for you to note that
you cannot use SBL Greek and Hebrew fonts in the web version.
If you choose to look for another word processing solution, here are some options:
- Purchase either the personal or family Microsoft 365 plan using your personal, not student, email for the prices listed here.
- Instead of Office 365, use the Google productivity suite for free with your student account. You can connect Google Docs to Zotero by following the steps found here, and you can learn how to use Google tools here. We have done some initial testing and it appears that Google Docs is compatible with Greek and Hebrew keyboard layouts. However, our testing has not been exhaustive.
- Instead of Office 365, use Libre Office. We have tested this software with SBL Greek and Hebrew fonts and it appears to be compatible.
