Submitting a Video Presentation Using YuJa
Every student is provided a YuJa account for students to be able to watch videos offline and also to create their own recordings when an assignment requires a video submission.
If you need more help, please reference these links:
To go to YuJa, you can go to your course and click on "YuJa" in the course navigation menu.
Your YuJa home screen will look like this. Click on "Create Recording" to get started.
A window will pop up prompting you to launch the YuJa recording software. If this is your first time using this software, then please click "Download" and install the software before you proceed.
When the YuJa Software Capture launches, you will see a recording control panel. You can adjust your settings here to record only yourself using your webcam or you can also record yourself and your desktop.
The following videos provide a quick click through some of the options in the YuJa Software Capture control panel and shows you how to turn off Screen capture.
The video above features the following:
- The video title can be inserted at the top where "Sample Recording" was typed in the example above
- The Video, Audio, and Screen capture features appear in the menu to the left
- The audio signal showing if your audio is being captured will show in the meter to the right - the flickering green meter means your sound is being captured by the software
- When you click the "Start" button in the lower-left-side corner, the YuJa Software Capture control panel will minimize and you will get a countdown before you start recording
You can ready to stop your recording, then go to the YuJa Software Capture control panel again and click on "Stop" to stop the recording.
Click the "Save" button on the confirmation screen to save the recording. If you delete the recording at this point, then you are unable to recover the file.
After the video is processed, you will see it appear in your Media Library in your browser
Hover over the video you wish to submit and click on "More..." from the menu that will appear overlayed on top of the video
A menu will appear. Click on "Links" from the side menu and then click on the copy button next to the Direct Link box to copy the link. This link can now be shared or submitted to your assignment.
