OT 013 Course at a Glance
Hebrew 3
Lecturing Faculty: Elizabeth Groves
Effective for the 2023-2024 Academic Year
Course Description
Now that you have finished Hebrew 1 and Hebrew 2, you have learned all the morphology (verb forms, etc.) that you need to know, and you have become acquainted with the basics of Hebrew syntax—at least for narrative. This course will expose you to other genres, such as prayer, prophecy, instruction, law, and poetry. The goals of this course are threefold: (1) to help you grow in reading fluency, (2) to get some practice with making simple exegetical decisions, and (3) to let you play around a bit with Hebrew poetry from the inside, which we believe will give you an awareness of and appreciation for what makes Hebrew poetry "tick." By the end of Hebrew 3 you should have the skills to reach other genres besides narrative.
