Workplace: Your Student Community and Engagement Space

Westminster has designed a unique, private edition of Facebook for our online learning community. We have taken "Workplace by Facebook" and converted it into a higher education platform for our program. The result is an easy-to-use platform and amazing mobile apps, all private and entirely separate from the regular "Facebook" site.

All faculty, students, and staff meet here to connect with peers, share resources, message and video chat, and more. You’ll eventually find groups forming around student interests, job and ministry opportunities, alumni, and more. Most importantly, you will complete your small group question and answers with faculty in Workplace.

Access your Westminster student Workplace account

When you become a student, you will receive an email to your student account that indicates you have been invited into our online learning community. Simply click the link in the email to accept and set your password to begin.

We encourage you to add a photo and set your profile with any info you would like to share with the community. You can always return to our Workplace community from the Westminster Info Center or by visiting wts.workplace.com.

View your course group page

The Westminster staff will add you to your course groups at the beginning of each term. Your courses will appear under "Teams & Projects" on the bottom left panel.

You will use your class group to discuss course content with the other students and faculty enrolled in the course. You can post to the main news feed in the center or choose individual people or groups to message privately on the right or with the chat feature.

Primarily, you will come to this course group on Workplace to see the posted discussion questions from faculty that are to be used for your face-to-face small group times. Your group will post its follow-up questions to the faculty member in the comments and see the faculty responses to your questions.

Join other community groups

Feel free to connect with peers across the student body. You will see other student interests groups created that you are welcome to join and interact with! You can create groups of friends or peers to stay connected and chat. Many small groups assigned in classes like to create a group in Workplace to stay connected throughout the term.

Mobile apps

The mobile apps are an excellent way to stay connected and communicate with peers and discussions. Note that you do not use the regular Facebook apps, but will sign in to the following apps:

  • Main app: Search "Workplace by Facebook"
  • Messaging-focused app: Search "Work Chat by Facebook"
